HER to perform at closing of Paris Olympics, highlighting transition to Los Angeles 2028

In a significant cultural handover, HER will grace the stage at the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony, performing live at the iconic Stade de France. This performance will not only mark the conclusion of the Paris Games, but will also set the stage for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

The acclaimed artist and five-time Grammy winner will sing the US national anthem, which symbolizes the passage of the Olympic spirit from Paris to Los Angeles, which will host the Games for the third time, after the 1932 and 1984 editions.

At just 27 years old, the California native boasts an impressive list of accolades, including an Oscar, an Emmy, and multiple Grammys. HER won the Grammy for Song of the Year in 2021 for her powerful protest song, “I Can’t Breathe,” and that same year she won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Fight for You” from the “Judas and the Black Messiah” soundtrack, which she co-wrote.

Additionally, HER’s creative talents extend beyond music. She wrote the Netflix animated series “We the People,” which earned her an Emmy for children’s and family programming. Her recent role in the 2023 adaptation of “The Color Purple,” produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg, further showcases her versatile craft.

HER’s upcoming performance at the Olympic Closing Ceremony is highly anticipated as it not only represents a cultural bridge between two Olympic host cities, but also highlights its profound impact on the arts and entertainment industry.
